At Brunnett Dentistry, we pride ourselves on providing you with comprehensive dental care. We’re not just going to clean your teeth and send you out the door with a card to come back in six months. You can expect to spend about an hour and a half at your dental exam. You’ll see Dr. Brunnett first. After taking some time to get to know you and your medical and dental history, she’ll develop a baseline. She’ll take x-rays, then use all of the information available to develop a treatment plan. Dr. Brunnett will discuss all the options with you and you’ll create a timeline together. We want you to feel comfortable with us and with the care you’re going to receive.
At Brunnett Dentistry, both the hygienist and the doctor will do visual and manual oral cancer screenings of your mouth at each visit. We look for any unusual signs, including unexplained swelling, sores, bleeding, pain, or numbness. We also use a Velscope to find any problems that aren’t visible to the naked eye. The Velscope’s non-invasive blue light shows us problems you can’t see or feel yet. By being thorough each and every time, we hope to catch any signs of oral cancer as soon as possible as early detection is key.
X-rays are one of our most valuable tools when it comes to developing a treatment plan and providing you with the highest quality care possible. We offer a range of x-ray options including traditional x-rays, digital x-rays, and panoramic x-rays depending on your preference and needs. We also use DIAGNOdent laser technology to help us find tooth decay before we can even see it. Unlike x-rays, DIAGNOdent uses a laser diode which is shined on a patient’s teeth. Then a digital readout of the teeth allows the dentist to detect decay that may not be found through traditional probing. By combining high-tech tools and our compassionate skills, we give you the most comprehensive dental care.
Over the course of your life, how many times have you been told to brush and floss regularly? It’s hard to beat that solid advice. While you’re taking care of dental hygiene on the home front, we’ll do our part when you come in to the office. Depending on the case, we sometimes use a Cavitron, a device that uses high-speed rotations and sound waves to get your teeth as clean as possible.
Gums that are painful, swollen, or bleeding, unexplained bad breath, and loose teeth may all be signs of periodontal disease. More commonly known as gum disease, it’s caused by bacteria wreaking havoc under your gumline. If we catch gum disease early, it’s highly treatable. If it’s allowed to go unchecked, gum disease can lead to a host of severe dental issues, including lost teeth. At Brunnett Dentistry, we fight gum disease with ARESTIN, an antibiotic inserted below the gumline to kill lurking bacteria so you can keep your teeth where they belong.
Fluoride is an old standby when it comes to preventing tooth decay and keeping your teeth healthy. At Brunnett Dentistry, we give our youngest patients a fluoride treatment at every visit. Orthodontics patients receive fluoride at each visit too, regardless of age. We give our adult patients fluoride as needed. We also carry Fluoridex products for you to purchase and use at home. The best smile starts with the basics.
If you wake up with unexplained headaches, pain in your mouth or jaw, or loose or broken teeth, you may be grinding your teeth at night. Also known as bruxism, grinding your teeth may be caused by stress, a sleep disorder, or a bite that’s out of line. We’ll work with you to discover the cause, but in the meantime, Dr. Brunnett may suggest a custom-made mouthguard to protect your teeth while you sleep. These dental night guards will prevent damage to your teeth and help you avoid more serious dental issues.
When dental emergencies happen, we want to be there for you. In case of an emergency, many times the team at Brunnett Dentistry can see you the same day. After hours, you can leave a message on our answering machine knowing that someone will get back to you as soon as possible. You can even call the emergency cell phone number available. If you need more extensive care, we’ll refer you to a specialist. Whatever your dental needs — from a hygiene appointment to a broken tooth — efficient, compassionate service is always available.
At Brunnett Dentistry, we enjoy a calm, friendly atmosphere. We want you to be relaxed, and our team will go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable. Through the use of advanced technology, patients enjoy precision care for added ease of diagnosing and treating dental issues. Our computerized treatment rooms allow us to access your dental records, x-rays, and photos in an instant. The iTero intraoral scanner produces a 3D representation of your teeth and mouth, providing the detailed information we need to do our best work on crowns, bridges, and Invisalign. The DIAGNOdent shines a light on tooth decay well before we can see it with the naked eye, allowing us to treat the decay before it becomes a more serious problem. Velscope is a tool that we use for oral cancer detection. It uses a non-invasive blue-light to help see possible lesions in their early stages. The Brunnett Dental team prides itself in using up to date technology which allows us to serve you and all your dental needs better.
